This year, Stephen Leacock CI entered the annual Cardboard Boat Race and Video Challenge.
What is the Cardboard Boat Race? Teams of four are provided all the necessary materials to build a boat in just two hours. Students must bring their problem-solving, teamwork and design skills as they create a seaworthy structure out of two sheets of 4′ by 8′ corrugated cardboard and some duct tape.
Team members (Hadassah C., Matthew C., Angelica C. and Shady A.) did exceptionally well for their first time working together on this unique challenge. Although we didn’t move on to the provincials, they still learned a lot of skills and had fun during the event held at West Hill CI on Wednesday, January 15th, 2020.
Our video team (Melody S. and Christin C.) captured the exciting event on camera, and will edit as part of their own video challenge entry.
Way to go, team!
