The Learning Commons philosophy puts the library at the heart of 21st century learning, where students and teachers create new knowledge through use of technology and learning, instead of reproducing old ideas in a text-based, paper format.

Our Learning Commons is a vibrant, welcoming, safe space in our school. All are welcome.

The Learning Commons is a hive of social activity and collaboration for staff and students alike. It is a wellness centre and a space to learn new skills in technology to prepare staff and students with a 21st century skill set.

Our Learning Commons philosophy includes:

  • Great Technology – Blogs, Infographics, Mind Maps, Google Suite, Websites
  • Student Wellness – Quiet room, games, socially collaborative seating
  • Digital Maker Space – Green screen, voiceovers, podcasts, photo shoots
Student mental health is important. Our Quiet Room gives our students space to “unplug” from the noise and bustle of the school environment.
Create new content…. Instead of writing a report about the Greek Parthenon, why not use the Green Screen to make a news report with you standing right in front of it instead?
Collaboration is 21st century literacy… and our Learning Commons is a hub for collaborative learning!
