Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters

Established in 2013 by Phyllis Webstad, Orange Shirt Day recognizes the legacy of the Residential Schools System for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit families and communities. On Thursday, September 30th, remember to wear your orange shirt to help recognize and honour Canada’s residential school Survivors. Over 150,000 Indigenous children endured the residential school system, and continue to still live with ongoing effects of intergenerational trauma because of it.
