10 students in Ms. Creary’s grade 10 Hospitality & Tourism class volunteered their time to help the wonderful people at North York Seniors Centre cafe on Wednesday, June 5th.
They used the skills they learned in the commercial culinary classroom to assist with prepping lunch for the visiting seniors, and a few even helped get their garden ready for vegetables that will be grown and used in future meals. They cooked up spaghetti & meatballs, garden salad, cream of potato soup and bread pudding!
Many thanks goes out to the amazing staff and volunteers at North York Seniors Centre who made this opportunity possible. The grade 10s welcomed learning and conversing with these knowledgeable and kind people in the community.
